Urban Arc Perimeter

The Delta is surrounded by some of the fastest growing bedroom communities in California.

Already, projects such as River Islands seek to build contentious, large suburban developments within the sea level landscape here. There is also an increasing demand that the Delta serve as a place of recreation to serve the several millions of people who live within an hour of it. Such pressures will only grow in time, and suggest the value of thinking about the Delta as a park as well as an infrastructure.
