October 29, 2003 letter from Governor Schwarzenegger to Sen. Dianne Feinstein encouraging the reauthorization of CALFED, the bureaucracy charged with overseeing the future of the Delta.

“As the Governor-elect, I would like to express my strong support for advancing federal legislation on the CALFED Bay-Delta program. I strongly urge Congress to authorize the federal contribution to CALFED in order to encourage the participating federal agencies to fully engage in a partnership with the State of California and the stakeholders of the CALFED program.”

Since 2003, the stakes of the stakeholders have only increased.
